Local church organist and musician Ivan Richardson is thrilled to present "These are a Few of our Favourite Hymns" as part of the Rockhampton Seniors Month activities again this year.

Over recent years Ivan has presented this event in local churches in Rockhampton and this year’s event will be held in St Paul's Anglican Cathedral. The Rt Revd Peter Grice and the St Paul's Parish Council are very pleased to have "These are a few of our favourite Hymns" in the Cathedral this year.

Though this Event is timed as part of Seniors Month, people of all ages and denominations are welcomed and will gain great joy and blessing as they join together in singing some of the most loved and cherished Hymns of all time.

The introductions to each Hymn include the back stories of what the composer / lyricist were experiencing at the time they composed / wrote their Hymn/s. Upon hearing these back stories the singing is enhanced greatly as the additional details give greater understanding of the powerful message of the lyrics.

Ivan Richardson will present special arrangements of the hymns featuring enhanced harmonies and key modulations. Ivan will present the musical accompaniment on his Roland Grand Orchestral Concert Organ which will provide additional colour and texture to the music through versatile instrumentation.

St Paul's Anglican Cathedral will celebrate a Senior’s Celebration Hymn Service on Sunday 8th October commencing at 7.30am.

Following "These are a few of our favourite Hymns" on Saturday the Sunday morning service will celebrate with a selection of ‘favourite’ Hymns. All welcome
